Job description
Are you a care assistant looking for a new position? Have you always wanted to work with children who require additional support? Do you have an nurturing nature?

If the answer to any of the above questions is "yes," then we may have the role for you!

We are currently working with a large SENd provision in Darlington, who cater for children with varying needs, many of them complex. They require passionate and caring individuals to work with their students with significant physical and learning needs. Many of those students have issues with mobility, have limited speech, and require constant care to manage in a school setting. The role is challenging, but very rewarding, and involves supporting those students with all of their physical needs, including feeding and changing.

The role would be best suited for those with a care background, who have experience providing physical support, and teaching assistants who have worked with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) in the past.

Additional qualifications in areas such as Manual Handling, Hoist Training or Peg Feeding are desirable, but not essential. The school will provide training for the right candidates.

You must have:

• A DBS certificate with a live subscription to the update service or be willing to get one
• Two professional references within the last three years
