Job description
Personal Assistant to Associate Headteacher: Maternity cover

The post holder will provide a high-performing PA service to the Associate Head.
They will also be responsible for the co-ordination, event management, administration, marketing, recruitment and evaluation of the impact of the school comprehensive in-house professional learning and Teaching School work.

Ensuring a high standard of administrative and management support for the Associate Headteacher, in order to assist in the smooth running of all activities, working under their supervision but expected to exercise considerable initiative in performing delegated duties, seeking the necessary advice, where appropriate

Managing the Associate Head teacher's diary by arranging and booking meetings; taking minutes; screening telephone calls, enquiries and requests and handling them or re-directing them to others as appropriate, using discretion in providing information both within and outside the School.
Co-ordination and administration of a comprehensive professional learning programme for School staff including advertising and recruiting to programmes, monitoring attendance and evaluating the impact of professional learning on raising standards.

Co-ordination and administration of recruitment to School Direct training vacancies (training and salaried routes) and the shared professional studies programme on behalf of the City Excellence in Teaching' cluster; ensuring smooth lines of communication between partner cluster schools and HEIs including information about shared professional studies events and mentor forums; dealing with enquiries from potential applicants in accordance with City Excellence in Teaching protocols; keeping accurate records

Work generally within set procedures and guidelines requiring occasional creative solutions to routine problems.
Daily contact with staff, students and senior colleagues from partner schools. Regular contact with parents and other visitors.
The post holder has responsibility for maintaining budgetary records in relation to professional learning functions and any Teaching School functions.
