Are you a recent graduate with a Performing Arts or Drama degree? Do you have a desire to work with children and aspire learning? If so, we want to hear from you.

Interested candidates will be invited to virtual open day on 23/11/2020 to discover more about the role and register for work.

We are recruiting for candidates with a drama or performing arts background to work in schools across the Sunderland area. Successful candidates will either take the roll of a cover supervisor or learning support assistant.

Feedback from the schools we work with tells us it is essential for a good cover supervisor to have classroom presence and confidence. Now more than ever, it is more important that the person in front of the class has the ability to capture the classes attention. That's why, if you come from a performing arts background you would be perfect for the role.

Roles available include flexible ad hoc bookings (perfect if you need time out for auditions or performances) or long term placements of up to a year.

You may provide one to one support or cover the class in the absence of the teacher.

The role of the cover supervisor is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. The class teacher will set work for students to complete and the cover supervisor will ensure that pupils remain on task. Although it is not necessary for cover supervisors to have specific subject knowledge they should be able to manage behaviour and discuss the student's work with them, offering support and advice if needed.

A cover supervisor is the responsible adult in the classroom and is, therefore, responsible for dealing with any emergencies or problems that might occur.
