Protocol Education work with several schools across the Doncaster, Rotherham & Barnsley are who have an increasing demand for pastoral support given the prolonged disruption to student's education and routine. Such roles involve supporting the progress and welfare of students, acting as their mentor.

This role will involve;
* Supporting students with guidance on personal circumstances, mental health, behavioural problems within school, academic attainment, attendance and general welfare.

You will liaise with other members of staff to ensure that educational setting of the students effectively meet their needs and when appropriate communicate with students' families.

Individuals need to have;

* Interpersonal skills - be approachable and able to communicate effectively in potentially challenging and sensitive situations.
* Have a solid background of direct work with young individuals as well as a good understanding of mental health in young individuals.
* Be a highly adaptable person able to adjust your approach to work dependent on each students' personal needs and circumstances, including students with SEN and behavioural needs, you will work 1-1 with students and with small groups.

This is the ideal opportunity for individuals with a background in Psychology or Mental Health Support as well as a great foundation of experience if you are looking to peruse further studies in the Counselling and Psychology field. Other relevant experience may be, Behaviour support, SEN support or perhaps you are a teacher looking to take a side step to focus more so on pastoral support.

Individuals should hold a minimum qualification of a degree, psychology and mental health qualifications are desirable. Some experience with young individuals is essential, with the ability to provide evidence of how you support their welfare.

Individuals will need to have a DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one.
