Pastoral Support Worker

Protocol Education require an individual who is skilled and qualified with supporting children who display challenging behaviours and additional needs. This individual must have a drive to attain the best of their children's abilities by implementing strategies to engage children in work and wanting to learn. We are working with schools across Wakefield, closely alongside the Pastoral Managers who are needing somebody to assist in working 1:1, in group Interventions and generally support children with SEMH, behavioural and additional needs.

The person must be able to handle challenging behaviour in a calm and structured manner and embed a rigorous timetable to enlighten children's enjoyment in their education and progress their attainment in this vital learning period. The school will provide support and a detailed understanding of the children as well as appropriate resources to implement your plans to ensure learning is engaging and structured.

We currently have roles with immediate starts which will continue initially until the end of the school year in July 2022. There is a strong potential these roles will be temp to perm', and a permanent role will be available thereafter.

We can offer flexible daily placements in a range of schools, or longer term secure placements.

You need to:
• Be a hard-working, outstanding role model
• Have experience with children - ideally with behaviour or a Team Teach qualification
• Be able to work with children of all ages from 5+ years old
• Be able to inspire and motivate pupils and parents
• Have high expectations for learning attitudes and behaviour
• Be creative and enthusiastic
• Have a structured and routine approach to day to day activities.
