Pastoral Support Mentor – Specialist SEMH School, Gateshead
Protocol Education is working with a welcoming SEMH school in Gateshead to recruit dedicated Pastoral Mentors for the upcoming academic year.
The school prides itself on creating a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, improve emotional regulation and achieve positive outcomes.
Your Role
- Providing one-to-one pastoral support
- Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour
- Supporting attendance and engagement across the school day
- Acting as a positive role model
- Building meaningful relationships with pupils
- Liaising with teaching staff and external professionals
Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- Resilience, patience and adaptability
- Professional and calm approach
- Passion for inclusion and wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
