A welcoming secondary school in South Shields is looking for a committed Pastoral Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about behaviour support, student wellbeing, and making a lasting impact on young people’s lives.

About the Role

In this role, you will support students who may be facing challenges such as behavioural difficulties, low engagement, or social and emotional needs. You will work closely with pastoral staff to provide targeted support that helps students return to learning and achieve their potential.

You may work across different areas of the school, including classrooms, intervention spaces, and pastoral support units.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Delivering one-to-one and small group pastoral interventions
• Supporting behaviour management and promoting positive choices
• Encouraging engagement, attendance, and routine
• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral leaders
• Building trust and positive relationships with students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
