Outreach Learning Mentor

Interview's available now with start date after October half term.

I am currently looking for an Outreach Learning Mentor to support a virtual school in the Surrey area. A virtual school is a tool used by a Local Authority to help organise the care of Looked After Children (LAC) and care leavers. Without a designated permanent classroom, your role as an Outreach Learning Mentor you will be required to travel to multiple sites to support your pupils.

The vision of the school I am recruitng for is to bepassionate about ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people and will deliver the services they need to live safe, happy, healthy and successful lives.

What responsibilities does the role have:

1.To provide short term, time bonded educational interventions, to support Looked After Children across the cohort areas of the Virtual School.
2. To take a key role in the Transition programme from KS2 - KS3, KS3-KS4 and KS4 - KS5 for the Virtual School.
3. To be involved in training provided by the Virtual School.
4 . To be involved in performance management, Virtual School and local authority meetings and the appraisal schemes in operation within the local authority.
5. As an outreach role you will be required to visit different sites to meet with pupils and report directly to the Head Teacher of the virtual school.

Skills the candidate must have:

1. Be resourceful, adaptable and dependable.
2. Embrace diversity and champion inclusion.
3. GCSE A-C inEnglish and Maths.
4. Previous experience of working in a classrooom setting either as an LSA or HLTA.
5. Experience of working with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities)
6. Have access to a vehicle to travel.
