Protocol Education are looking for a direct paediatric HCPC registered Occupational Therapist to support children and young people in a SEND School setting aged from 4-19. Using a sensory integration and neurodevelopmental approach that facilitates and promotes development, functionality and academic performance.
Duties: Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with, parents, educators, medical and other related professionals.
Direct therapy promotes development to achieve short term targets and long-term goals of reaching appropriate functional norms, activities of daily living, and sensory-motor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
Through indirect therapy provides advice, guidance and training for parents and educators to effect reinforcement therapy objectives and to promote understanding of the presenting needs of the child.
Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00.
