Job description
Protocol Education are currently recruiting for Nursery Room Manager minimum NVQ 3 to join a nursery in the Putney area.
40 hours per week must be flexible to work variable shifts between 7.30am to 7pm

Age group responsibility: 6 months - 18 months

Job Summary

To be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, happy, positive, stimulating, learning environment meeting all EYFS standards.

Main Duties
To learn and uphold the nursery's policies and procedures to safeguard, nurture, develop and care for children in our nursery.

To fully understand and comply with the Welfare Requirements and practice guidance of the Early Years Foundation stage.

To lead and manage a small team and ensure their compliance with the main aims of the organisation to uphold all policies and procedures, in particular
attendance, safeguarding and EYFS

To be proactive in providing a learning, caring environment using resources, creativeness and initiative and personal skills, reflecting your knowledge and

To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time.


Qualifications Essential

NVQ3 or higher qualification in childcare or early years education,
NNEB, or diploma in play nursery practice

Qualification in paediatric first aid Yes


Knowledge of the early year's foundation stage learning.


Proven experience of monitoring and recording children's progress to meet
legal requirements of nursery

Experience of working in a diverse and inclusive environment

At least two years post qualification in childcare experience in a UK based

Proven experience of acting as Key person to children

Experience of supervising and leading other staff within the room


Have a satisfactory level of fitness, ability and physical and mental health that will not affect your performance, responsibility to be able to provide care for others or your ability to fully carry out all of the duties and demands of the job.

To be confident to deal with the nursery's clients on all matters relating to child care

To be able to work alternating 8 hour shifts between the opening hours of
the nursery (7.30 - 7pm)

Ability to use own initiative

High standard of written and oral communication and comprehension skills
(English language)

Ability to organise and prioritise workload

Excellent interpersonal skills

Able to work flexibly within the rooms of the nursery if required

Ability to lead junior staff in room when necessary, as part of Welfare
