Job description
We are seeking a Full-time Permanent Room Leader to join a leading nursery in Tower Hamlets with an immediate start. The nursery who provides high-quality, pre-school education is committed to giving children the best start in life by helping them develop their intellectual, emotional and personal skills through learning and play. The nursery has recently been rated Good' after an Ofsted inspection highlighting their balance of traditional teaching methods with learning through play in a warm, nurturing environment.
The Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful appointed Room Leader will undergo Background Checks and Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance will be required.
The successful Room Leader will need to be committed to delivering high quality childcare, be able to lead a small team under the supervision of a manager and act as a key person for a group of children; planning and leading exciting play and learning opportunities as well as mentoring and organising within the team. They will have excellent communication skills and an organised approach to their work.
Your day-to-day tasks would include:
·Working as part of a team and using your initiative and imagination to generate new ideas
·Using your excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with parents, children and welcome visitors to the Nursery
·Looking after children of all ages
·Planning, implementing and evaluating a curriculum appropriate to age and individual needs of the children ensuring the room layout supports these aims
·Having lots of fun!
You will need:
· NVQ Level 4 or Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent
·A good understanding of the EYFS and to be able to use this to plan activities for the children
·Awareness of planning, observing and record keeping for young children and the ability to link these to the individual child's needs.
·Experience in developing effective relationships with colleagues and parents
·Experience of leading a team
