Job description
This nursery is looking for an outstanding nursery practitioner to join their amazing team!

Preferably a Level 2/3 in Early Years. Can be unqualified but must have experience in child care.

The job spec is as follows:
·To be responsible for providing a high quality of activities, ensuring that the staff are properly deployed and offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children
·To provide full care for children including arrangements for receiving children from Parents and/or named carers, and safely delivering / collecting them to / from school
·To oversee the provision at meal times
·To provide safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities, preparing and organising the activities programme.
·To be a key worker for a group of children by observing, monitoring and recording each individual's development. To support unqualified playwork assistant in the implementation and evaluation of children's learning and progress
·To promote Learning through Play.
·To manage and lead a team of play workers/playwork assistants
·To provide full care for the children including collection of children from school (where appropriate) and the safe delivery to parents and/or named carers. This may include providing refreshments.
·To ensure that the Club is a safe environment for children, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills/evacuation procedures are carried out effectively.
·To ensure records are properly maintained e.g. accident and incident form, registers, medication forms, parents and children's arrival and departure forms and other documents pertaining the company.
·To administer First Aid as appropriate (if you have a current paediatric first aid certificate)
·To carry out day to day administration, record keeping and report to Management when stock supplies are low
·To liaise with parents/carers, informing them about the club and its activities, exchanging information about the children's progress and encouraging parental involvement.
·To initiate close liaison with parents, school representatives and other childcare and play related agencies including the Early Years Development and Childcare Team.
·To ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are implemented, and provide reports as required.
·To contribute to and implement all club policies and procedures.
·To attend meetings as appropriate
·To carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
·To work within agreed policies and practices, including behaviour management, child protection, equal opportunities and Health & Safety
·Carry out staff supervision meetings by the end of each term and appraisal annually.


Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £10- £11.00 per hour
