Job description
Nursery Nurse

The School is a thriving, two-form-entry Catholic primary school with a nursery, serving an area of rich cultural and social diversity. They are a committed, enthusiastic and friendly team, motivated by an aim to develop each person's gifts in the spirit of the Gospel message. Standards of attainment and progress are high, and the school are doing well in meeting the needs of disadvantaged groups. They have a brand-new nursery in a bright, attractive and well-resourced school in which relationships thrive and learning is fun. There is always something different happening in school and they actively seek opportunities to celebrate achievements! The school is looking for a Nursery Nurse who is fair, enthusiastic and full of energy; loves to teach and loves to learn.

You will:
Join a team of practitioners responsible for the education and care of the children in the school
Be involved in contributing to the teaching and learning programme in line with the aims and objectives of the school
Provide activities for children's learning and support their independence as learners
Work under the direction and control of the Headteacher and Teacher

Duties include:

-Maintain safeguarding, secure and a caring environment
-Assisting the Nursery team in providing high quality childcare
-Meeting the needs of each individual child
-SEN experience would be an advantage but not necessary
-Building strong relationships with parents

Ideal Candidate will:

-Hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in childcare (NVQ or equivalent)
-The commitment to provide first class childcare
-The ability to promote good practice in a professional manner
-Good organisational skills
-A caring, kind and approachable manner
-An understanding on how children develop and learn
-Ability to use your own initiative to organise activities and tasks
