Secondary Teacher MFL Teacher

We’re working closely with a forward-thinking secondary school in Telford that’s looking to welcome an engaging MFL teacher into the team from September.

This is a school where high expectations go hand in hand with a genuinely inclusive culture. Pupils are encouraged to think independently, share their ideas, and grow not just academically, but as confident young people. Respect, responsibility, and resilience aren’t just words on the wall, they shape the day-to-day feel of the school, creating a calm space where learning can really take hold.

Languages play a big role here. It’s not just about passing exams, it’s about opening doors. Lessons are designed to go beyond the textbook, giving pupils a real sense of different cultures and how language connects them to the wider world. As part of this, you’ll bring energy into the classroom, spark curiosity, and help students find their voice as confident communicators.

You’ll be joining a team where curiosity is encouraged, behaviour is strong, and teachers are trusted to teach in a way that works. There’s a real sense of togetherness from the moment you arrive. People support each other, share ideas, and pull in the same direction.

Values, safeguarding and curriculum

The school actively promotes core British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect for different beliefs. These are woven naturally into lessons and discussions, giving pupils space to explore ideas and develop their own perspectives.

Across RP, PSHCE and SMSC, pupils learn about world faiths and wider society, with opportunities to visit places of worship during KS3 and KS4. Safeguarding is a shared priority, with clear systems in place and a strong culture of vigilance. From online safety to wider wellbeing, everything is built into the curriculum and daily routines.

What’s on offer

  • Pupils who are curious, motivated, and ready to learn
  • A supportive MFL department that shares ideas and resources
  • Leadership that backs creativity as well as strong outcomes
  • Opportunities to develop, grow, and progress in your career
  • A welcoming, well-established school community

Who we’re looking for

You’re a passionate MFL teacher, or an ECT ready to kickstart your career in a supportive school, who knows how to make languages feel relevant and engaging. You bring culture into your lessons, set clear expectations, and create a classroom where pupils feel comfortable giving things a go.

Got ideas for cultural clubs, trips, or language exchanges? Even better, they’ll be encouraged here.

You’ll need

  • UK QTS or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for languages
  • A creative, engaging teaching style
  • A commitment to building confidence and curiosity in pupils
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
