Job description
A remarkable, Pupil Referral Unit for young people with emotional behavioural difficulties are recruiting for an Maths Teacher.

This Pupil Referral Unit educates pupils aged between 8-12 years who have SEMH/EBD and are unable to attend mainstream Schools for a variety of reasons. The students are often only there for a few terms until they can be reintegrated. The Schools' aim is to achieve positive relationships with students which leads to improved behaviour and learning.

This role will be challenging so you will need to be prepared. The right candidate will need to make a strong approach in handling challenging roles and be confident as you will be working with students that have been involved in gang violence, have social and emotional behavioural disorders and have been subjected to sexual exploitation.

The ideal candidate will need to have a passion for working with youth, know how to handle tough situations, know how to resolve or deescalate situations in the correct and efficient manner.

Key requirements for this role are:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working within a PRU environment
• Experience in teaching Science
• Available to start in September
