Maths Teacher

I am working with several secondary schools within West Leeds, who are recruiting for Maths Teachers, to ensure their students catch up from missed learning, close attainment gaps & ensure year 11 and 13 students are on track to their upcoming exams.

Placements involve teaching mixed ability groups as well as leading intervention classes. Appropriate applicants will be able to confidently teach Maths to GCSE level. As, students are working in bubbles, rather than sets based on ability, applicants need to have the capability to differentiate lesson plans to varying abilities.

Schools are looking for teachers who can consistently demonstrate strong behaviour management and adhere to their behaviour policies, since the return to school there has been an increase in students displaying behavioural and focus problems.

In these uncertain times, Maths departments need teachers who are adaptable, committed to ensuring their students get the best quality teaching and able to work effectively within a supportive team.

These positions range from one academic term up to temporary to permanent contracts, some positions starting as soon as January 2021.
Requirements of the role:

• QTS specialising in Maths (appropriate for NQT's and experienced teachers)
• Able to teach across KS3 & KS4, including GCSE groups.
• Oversee Maths Intervention classes
• Hold strong behaviour management
• Understand positive behaviour systems
• Available full time, part time (minimum of 3 days a week) may be considered
• Willing to commit to all planning and marking
• Experience working with SEN students is preferable but not essential.
