Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

I am recruiting for a Maths graduate who has a passion for their subject and supporting young students. I am working with a school in West Leeds who are recruiting for an intervention specialist to support with GCSE & A-level students to help students catch up and close attainment gaps.

This is an ideal position for an individual looking to start a career in the education, to gain further experience and have the potential to be supported through teacher training directly via the school.

Requirements of this role:

• 2:1 In Maths related degree
• Sound subject knowledge to GCSE & A-level (KS3-KS5)
• Experience working with young individuals although does not have to be directly in a similar role (youth work, sports coaching, voluntary work is all acceptable).
• Can build good relationships with young individuals.
• Be patient, adaptable & creative, able to work with students of a varying ability.
• Able to work liaise with Maths Teachers in the department to understand expectations against the curriculum.
• Be an adaptable individual may need to help in other support roles across the school such as, covering lessons.
• Have strong behaviour management skills the ability to ensure students remain focused
• DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
