Job description
Manual Handling and Hoist Trained Teaching Assistant

Hounslow

A leading special needs school in the London borough of Hounslow has recently increased its student population and has plans to increase further by the start of the new year when they also plan to be moving in to the newly built state of the art school. To cope with the increasing numbers and high demand of required support at the school experienced and dedicated teaching assistants are needed.

The ideal candidate

•Experience in manual handling and hoisting
•Good sense of humour
•Ability to create and maintain relationships
•Excellent understanding of special education needs, in particular PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties).
•Team Teach trained
•Makaton and PEC's experience

The school is situated in a quiet rural part of Hounslow that is also easily accessible on the Piccadilly line and only a short walk from Hounslow East station.

The school have an impressive staffing structure that offers opportunities to succeed and achieve further qualifications. You can become a specialist in special needs education through an apprenticeship scheme run by a local college or become a teacher in special needs which the school will also provide the training for.
