Job description
Personal Care Assistant in Camden


Are you looking for a fun new environment to work in where you can engage with other professionals and support children with additional needs?

A special education college is currently looking for additional LSA's to join their team.

The college has around 40 students in total with 15 of them having Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties and needing personal care and manual handling.

Duties include working closely with pupils of SEN in groups or 1:1, maintaining and improving the social, emotional, physical and learning needs for pupils. The ideal candidate will be able to tailor their approach in regards to communication, engagement, and distraction techniques to optimise learning and maximise comfort.

If you already have experience in this vocation then you will also be required to assist with personal care, manual handling and have strong knowledge of health and safety polices. If you have not had experience in these areas then you will be expected to take part in training.

As it's a college, the students are aged 16-25 and the main focus of lessons is independent living, personal hygiene, money skills and personal care.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • experience in, or willing to do personal care and manual handling
  • experience working with PMLD and ASD children and/or adults
