Job description
Protocol Education is currently recruiting for experienced ASD teaching/learning support assistants, to work in a range of different SEND schools throughout Southwark. We currently have a wide range of exciting positions available on either a day-to-day or long-term supply basis, across the different key stages.

As these roles involve working with pupils on the ASD spectrum, typically with challenging behaviours, previous experience of working with pupils in SEND settings is ideal but not essential. Many of these schools will consider strong candidates from the maintained sector, who demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for working with SEND pupils as well as a willingness to undertake additional CPD training to facilitate optimal practices in SEND teaching.

Your main duties will include:
• Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis
• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
• Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress
• Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils
• Contributing to the wider life of the school, especially relating to extracurricular initiatives within the school
• Liaising with parents, carers, education welfare officers, social workers and health care professionals
• Working alongside and advising learning support assistants

Other experience and qualifications which are preferable:
• Confidence in working with and communicating PEC's & Makaton
• Team Teach qualified

Successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory references, as well as an up to date DBS or be willing to apply for a DBS through Protocol Education.

Protocol Education offers all Learning Support Assistants:
• Excellent rates of pay
• Professional support from our team of experienced consultants
• A wide variety of different positions, both day to day and long term
• Continued support through all placements via a dedicated consultant
• Free CPD courses

If this role is of interest to you, please feel free to contact Aiden Kelly at Protocol Education on 0208 971 1284 for further information. Alternatively, please send an updated CV to Aiden.Kelly@protocol-education.com
