Job description
Full time and part time jobs in South East London for experienced, qualified visual impairment teachers

You will be responsible for teaching students who are visually impaired, supporting them along their learning journey.

Ideally, the candidates we are looking for will have existing experience however NQTs will equally be considered! We have a number of opportunities for visual impairment teachers (V.I Teachers) covering long term and short term roles as well as daily supply bookings.

It would also be an advantage if you are you sufficient in Braille

Other locations that we are recruiting for include; Lewisham, Southwark and Greenwich.

Your main duties will include:

• Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.
• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
• Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress
• Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils; this may include feeding, changing and manual handling.
• Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and healthcare professionals
• PECs

Other experience & qualifications desirable:

• PECs
• Positive handling
• Restorative justice
• First Aid trained

Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS or be willing to apply for a Protocol DBS.
