LKS2 Primary Teaching Assistant
Protocol Education are working with a school in Manchester who are looking to recruit a LKS2 Teaching Assistant in a primary school in Salford. The post will be working in a Year 4 in the mornings and then delivering small intervention group work in the afternoons to children across Year 3 and Year 4 who have fallen behind during the last year. The school is a two-form entry school with an average class size of 30 children. It was graded good at its last Ofsted and was commented and praised for its exceptionally well-behaved children.
The job is a full-time position which will involve working 5 days per week starting straight after the Easter holidays until the end of the academic year July 2021. It is a temporary position as the school have received extra funding to support children, but it could possibly be extended into the next academic year.
The main purpose of the job will be to support a Year 3 and Year 4 class with their learning and provide general support for the school in different ways. This includes -
·Working with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher
·Running interventions in the afternoons
·Giving regular feedback on children's progress
·Attending to children's personal needs including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene (depending on class working with)
·Establishing good relationships with pupils
·Display work
·Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
