LKS2 Primary Teaching Assistant - Year 3
Protocol Education are working with a school in Tamside who are looking to recruit a KS2 Teaching Assistant. The post will be working in a Year 3 class supporting children who have fallen behind during lockdown. The children require extra support with their learning. You will be supporting them in the morning with their core subjects: Maths, English, Reading and Writing and then supporting the rest of the class in the afternoon with other National Curriculum subjects such as PE, Art, DT, French, Science.
The school is a one form entry school. It has a real warm and welcoming feel with supportive and hard-working staff and children who are exceptionally well behaved.
This is a part time position which will involve working 3 days per week starting in May straight after until the end of the academic year July 2021. Wednesday - Friday but this could be flexible if the candidate needed to change. The school has also been given some extra funding to support children so could possibly be extended depending on the right candidate.
The main purpose of the job will be to support a KS2 class with their learning and provide general support for the school in different ways. This includes -
·Working with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher
·Running interventions in the afternoons
·Giving regular feedback on children's progress
·Attending to children's personal needs including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene (depending on class working with)
·Establishing good relationships with pupils
·Display work
·Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
