A very well established college in Westminster with a reputation of excellence are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person with a minimum of BSL Level 4 skills, good literacy and numeracy skills and experience of working with deaf people. The post is to support the learning of a specific child with additional language and literacy needs. This post is contracted for 1 year with option to extend, linked to the student’s Statement/Education Health Care Plan.

This is a college that encourages students with mixed learning difficulties to mix with mainstream students. This gives all the students that attend a good opportunity to communicate with people from different backgrounds and to create friendships with people that may not have been able to mix with during school. The college grounds were recently developed and are seriously impressive and offer thousands of students to study here, the modern and spacious environment makes learning and working here that bit more enjoyable.


Duties and responsibilities:
• Establish a supportive relationship with the student concerned.
• To support the student’s learning in class under the direction of the class teacher and to help them to develop their self-esteem.
• To support the class teacher in developing specific activities and carrying out an individual programme for the student, if required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
