Protocol Education is working with a welcoming SEND school across Gateshead to recruit an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with pupils with additional needs and wants to play a key role in helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised support, help pupils access learning and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND
• Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
• Assisting with classroom activities and targeted interventions
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teachers and wider support staff
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Have previous experience working in a school or SEND setting
• Have a good understanding of SEND and inclusive education
• Be confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
• Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Be patient, caring and consistent
• Be proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
