Level 3 Teaching Assistant required for a specialist SEMH and SEND provision supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Experience in SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision essential.

We are seeking a resilient and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our specialist school supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role involves working closely with pupils who have EHCPs in a structured, trauma-informed environment focused on relationship-based practice and personalised learning.

About the Role

  • Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs across a specialist classroom setting
  • Deliver targeted interventions and structured learning activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support aligned to EHCP outcomes
  • Implement trauma-informed, attachment-aware and restorative approaches
  • Support emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies
  • Contribute to progress tracking and review processes

About You

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with SEMH and/or SEND pupils
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches
  • Ability to manage behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reflective, adaptable and committed to inclusive education

Experience in a specialist school, PRU, alternative provision or therapeutic setting is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
