Are you an experienced and resilient Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in specialist education?

We are seeking a committed and compassionate TA to join our dedicated team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional SEND. Our learners have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and benefit from highly personalised, relationship-led provision.

About Our Setting

Our specialist provision offers:

  • Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios
  • A trauma-informed, attachment-aware approach
  • Therapeutic and relational behaviour support
  • Personalised curriculum pathways linked to EHCP outcomes
  • A strong focus on emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Multi-agency collaboration to support holistic development

Our practice reflects current national priorities in SEND reform and inclusive education, aligned with guidance from the Department for Education and inspection expectations from Ofsted.

The Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching and learning across a specialist classroom environment
  • Deliver targeted interventions and structured programmes
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support aligned to EHCP outcomes
  • Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour
  • Promote emotional regulation and positive engagement
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads and external professionals
  • Contribute to progress monitoring and review meetings

This is a hands-on, dynamic role requiring emotional resilience, professional boundaries and a genuine passion for inclusion.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils
  • Understands trauma-informed and relational practice
  • Can confidently support behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • Is reflective, adaptable and solution-focused
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Experience in specialist schools, alternative provision, PRUs or therapeutic settings is highly desirable.
