Protocol Education is seeking Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join supportive primary schools across Ferryhill, Durham, starting this September.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with pupils and wants to play an active role in their academic and personal development. You'll support classroom learning, provide targeted assistance and help pupils overcome barriers to progress.

Role Details

• Full-time
• September 2026 start
• Monday-Friday
• 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30am-4:00pm
• Term-time only
• Long-term opportunity with permanent potential

Your Day-to-Day Role

• Supporting lessons across the primary curriculum
• Working with individuals and small groups
• Delivering structured interventions
• Supporting pupils with SEND
• Helping prepare classroom resources
• Encouraging participation and positive behaviour
• Supporting pupils to become more independent

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Has experience working within a school environment
• Has excellent communication skills
• Is approachable, caring and patient
• Works well alongside teachers and other school staff
• Is committed to helping children achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
