Job description
Contractual hours: 10 hours (Waking Nights) - 4 Nights a week - Term Time Only
Length of contract: 1 year, with possible permanent position

A very well established school in Wandsworth are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person with a minimum of BSL Level 2 skills and experience of working with young Deaf children. . This unique role will be supporting a hearing impaired student in the residential site based within the school.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Establish a supportive relationship with the student assigned to.

• To support the child's learning, independence and to help them to develop their confidence.

• Provide one to one support in additional school curricular activities.

• To support the student throughout the night, ensuring they are staff, not at risk of potential dangers and providing a supportive approach.

• To work effectively and professionally with the night manager and understanding the policies and procedures of the home.

As the student is hearing impaired, the candidate MUST be a minimum level two in BSL. Candidates who are not certified in British Sign Language will not be considered for this post.

Please note, successful candidates will be working night shifts only and will not be directly working the school. The hours will be from 21:00 - 7:00.
