Job description
A very well established school in Wandsworth are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person with a minimum of BSL Level 2 skills and experience of working with young Deaf children. This unique role will be supporting a hearing-impaired student in the residential site based within the school.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish a supportive relationship with the student assigned to.
  • To support the child's learning, independence and to help them to develop their confidence.
  • Provide one to one support in school curricular activities.
  • To support the student throughout the day, ensuring they are safe, not at risk of potential dangers and providing a supportive approach.
  • To work effectively and professionally with the night manager and understanding the policies and procedures of the home.

As the student is hearing impaired, the candidate MUST be a minimum level two in BSL. Candidates who are not certified in British Sign Language will not be considered for this post.
