Job description
Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant for a special needs (SEN) school based around Chessington. We currently have a wide range of exciting positions available for either day-to-day or long-term supply with students that have SEMH needs. Our day to day work ranges from anything to 3 to 5 days a week and our long-term assignments are 5 days a week; 8:30-3:30pm.
As part of their team, you will be responsible for the progress and wellbeing of the pupils. You will be providing help for students who have complex and severe learning difficulties. The school has excellent provisions for student who are on the autistic spectrum. The successful candidate will be a caring, enthusiastic and committed teaching assistant.

Requirements
• Have experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally using Makaton to support communication
• Have experience delivering a differentiated Key Stage 1 and 2 primary curriculum and targeted interventions
• Have a strong academic background in English and mathematics
• Be a positive role model for the pupils
• Believe in high expectations and be committed to seeing that every child reaches their full potential.
• Be a good team player
• Be able to inspire learning in and beyond the classroom.
