I am currently working with a large and diverse 3 form entry primary school in the London borough of Hillingdon Close to West Drayton.

The school provides an impressive and modern learning environment for children, with a range of facilities to ensure a variety curriculum is supported. The school benefits from their own playing fields and offer a range of sport and outdoor activities ensuring that academic as well as extra-curricular aspects of education are encouraged.

We are supporting them with the recruitment of a Learning Support Assistant, working with student who have a range of complex needs, from Social Emotional and Mental Health, as well as children with Autistic spectrum disorder or barriers to learning.

Your role will involve working alongside the teacher, SENCo as well as liaising with external speech and language therapists. You will be based within the classroom, as well as taking groups of children out and therefore part of your role will be to help those children needing general support within the classroom, as well as through targeted interventions.

This is a vital and rewarding position where you will be offering the best possible support to children to enable them to fully access the curriculum and get the most out of their time at school.

This position is offered as a temp- perm position and to start ASAP you will be expected to work between 8:30-4 with a half hour lunch break and so it's essential you are available full time and to start right away after interview.

We are looking for someone with a kind nature and positive and nurturing approach to learning. Ideally you will have experience of working with young people with ASD or other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities SEND, and therefore be familiar with some of the tools and strategies to support effectively. We are open to consider transferable skills and experience as the most important quality we are looking for is passion and knowledge for working with children with ASD.
