A SEND school based in Chesterfield that caters for pupils aged between 3 and 19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) are looking for teaching assistant

They require friendly, caring, empathetic and reliable teaching assistants to join their support staff. You will be required to provide general classroom support and may also be asked to work on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Previous experience of working with PMLD or SLD is a desirable, and all applicants must be willing to assist with personal care. Many of the children are non-verbal and therefore the ability to use communication aids such as PECS and Makaton would be advantageous. Teaching assistants with Personal Care, Moving and Handling, Peg feeding and Medical Administration training are highly desirable.

About the Role:
SEND Teaching Assistant
Monday - Friday
8:30am - 3:30pm
£65 - £75 per day

Ideal Candidate:
Previous PMLD or SLD experience is essential
Willing to provide personal care.
PECS or Makaton experience - highly desirable.
Moving and Handling training also highly desirable.
