Protocol Education are currently working with an excellent SEND school in Tanridge, Surrey, who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant with SEND experience to join their school as soon as possible.

You will be working with children aged between 11 and 16 years old; each with statements of Special Education Needs. Most of the children you will be working with have very limited communication skills, and some are completely non-verbal. You will be assisting more than one class, as well as working 1:1 with your selected student. This school looks after children Autism and Complex Needs; although, a majority of the time you will spend within one class.

To be eligible to apply for this position, it is essential that you have experience supporting pupils with Autism and challenging behaviour. In addition to this, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and/or Makaton will be useful in this post; however training may well be provided.

For this role you must be able to start immediately after passing our clearance process.

You must have a good command of numeracy and literacy, as this is especially important when supporting pupils with limited communication skills.
