Protocol Education are working in partnership with a secondary school based around the Dagenham area who are looking for a skilled and experienced Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in Year 7. Your role as a Learning Support Assistant will be to support the class teacher and work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil requiring additional support within the classroom. As a Learning Support Assistant, although the majority of your day will be working on a 1:1 basis, there may also be some small group and whole class support required at times. If you are interested in being considered for this role you must possess one of the below:

- Experience working in a school as a TA
- Experience volunteering in a school
- Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Level 3 Certificate Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools


Skills and experience you'll need:

- An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults
- Flexibility and creativity
- Enjoy working with children
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behaviour
- In some jobs it could be useful if you have IT skills or are fluent in local community languages
