Job description
Learning Support Assistant required in Chesterfield

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school in Chesterfield . The position will involve working with learning needs and vulnerable pupils facing behavioural, emotional and social difficulties on a one to one basis and in small groups as well as supporting the teacher with whole class sessions.

The setting will involve working with both Key Stages 3 and 4 pupils within a small centre attached to the mainstream school and within the school itself.

The classrooms are spacious with an Art and IT suite and it is obvious the pupils are proud of their work which is displayed in every classroom.

The school has a welcoming team who are very passionate about the pupils and guiding them to achieve and succeed. The school would benefit from an enthusiastic committed and driven person to join their team.

Pupils can often display difficult behaviour so it is essential the candidate has excellent behaviour management who will not be fazed by sometimes challenging behaviour.

The Role will involve supporting the teacher in the classroom, monitoring , challenging and rewarding behaviour, supporting small groups and on a one to one basis and most of all the candidate will have to be committed to the position.

The person will need to be motivated, resilient and very organised, be able to understand individual needs and ways to bring out the best in each individual pupil, they will have strong behaviour management skills and be enthusiastic, having a passion to encourage young people to learn
