Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Chelmsford
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive primary school in Chelmsford from September. This full-time role will focus on supporting pupils transitioning into Year 1, making it ideal for someone with strong knowledge of early learning and Key Stage 1.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an LSA or Teaching Assistant

  • Strong experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

  • Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum

  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

  • Ability to support children during key transition periods

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils, particularly those with SEN

  • Support children transitioning from Early Years into Year 1

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
