Job description
Learning Support Assistant
SEN Learning Support Assistant Role in North London
Full time + Long Term Role
Starting September 2017

A Mainstream School in North London is seeking to appoint an LSA (Learning Support Assistant) to work alongside other LSAs in a secondary school This position has arisen due to increased headcount on the school roll and the opening of an additional class to support students. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary or secondary school or specialist SEN environment.

The class consists of five pupils with a broad range of learning and medical needs, all of whom are wheelchair bound. You would be working alongside a very experienced LSA who is very supportive, friendly and hardworking. You will also benefit from the schools exceptional CPD and in house training schemes.

The ideal candidate would have:

• A proven record of working with SEN students with a range of needs

• Using initiative

• Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton

• Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application with 2 references.
