Protocol Education is currently working on behalf of a lovely school, looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant in a Year 5 class. The day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the class teachers, with a small amount of 1:1 support with one of the pupils.

The school is a lovely two-form-entry, based in Walton-on-Thames. An inclusive school, the staff work collaboratively to ensure the best possible education for it's pupils.

The ideal candidate will be:

-Supporting school work under the supervision of the teacher.
-Preparing learning resources.
-Encouraging children's confidence, self esteem and independence.
-Helping children understand instructions, through repetition, re-phrasing or demonstrating.
-Putting into practice individual education, social, behavioural and personal care programmes.
-Encouraging children to communicate with one another and with staff.
-Providing feedback and assistance to teachers.
-Supporting children in social activities and on outings.-• Assisting children during therapy sessions.
-Recognising signs of distress in children and offering reassurance.
-Attending to pupils' physical needs.
-Completing records.
