Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a calm and academically focused school in Gateshead.

The school has high expectations for its students and places a particular emphasis on literacy, reading and written communication.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working directly with young people and is confident providing practical support during lessons.

Responsibilities

• Support students across a range of subjects
• Work with pupils individually and in small groups
• Provide real-time support during lessons
• Encourage students to remain focused
• Help pupils develop their literacy skills
• Support spelling, reading and written communication
• Mark and provide feedback on student work
• Build positive relationships with pupils
• Support students during breakfast and lunch
• Encourage positive social interactions
• Contribute to a calm and structured environment

The school expects Teaching Assistants to be actively involved in lessons, moving around the classroom and working directly with students rather than remaining at the back of the room.
