Are you based in South Gloucestershire and looking for a rewarding full-time role supporting children with SEND?

We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work on a full-time supply basis within a specialist Resource Base at a welcoming primary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for consistent, full-time work where you can become part of the school community, build strong relationships with pupils and make a genuine difference.

What will you be doing?

Working within the Resource Base, you will support children with additional needs through 1:1 work, small-group activities and personalised learning.

Your role will include:

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting communication, social skills and emotional regulation
  • Helping children engage with learning at a level appropriate to their needs
  • Encouraging confidence and independence
  • Providing calm and consistent support when children find situations challenging
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff
  • Supporting inclusion within the wider school where appropriate

The school has a strong focus on kindness, inclusion and creating a sense of belonging, while helping children develop skills such as resilience, emotional understanding, communication, independence and collaboration.

Who are we looking for?

We’d particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • SEND or specialist education
  • Resource bases
  • Learning support or teaching assistant roles
  • Youth work or mentoring
  • Nursery or childcare
  • Care or support work

You’ll need to be patient, resilient, reliable and nurturing, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping children with additional needs thrive.
