A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gateshead is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive team from September.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Encourage children to develop independence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs where required.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe and positive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or youth work setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Is patient, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Can build positive relationships with children and staff.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
  • Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
