The role

We are working with a well-structured, inclusive 11–19 secondary school to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils across KS3–KS5. The school has clear behaviour expectations, strong pastoral support and a commitment to helping all pupils access a broad, ambitious curriculum.

You will work closely with teachers and SEN/pastoral teams to provide classroom support, targeted interventions, and help pupils build confidence and independence.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN or additional learning needs

  • Assist teachers in promoting engagement and understanding

  • Support pupils’ behavioural and emotional regulation

  • Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching/SEN staff

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture

The ideal candidate

  • Experience working with children/young people (education, youth work, care, tutoring)

  • Calm, patient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Confident supporting behaviour and learning in a secondary setting

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
