The schools are now working towards opening on 8th March and we are recruiting to support them.

A Durham school requires a learning support assistant to provide 121 support to children in KS3-KS4. The successful candidate will be required from Easter 2021 until the end of the academic year. This is a full time role.

The school is located in the north west area of county Durham, making it easily accessible from Newcastle, Durham and the west of Northumberland.

The successful candidates will have experience of dealing with challenging behaviour. They will work alongside teaching staff to provide both academic and pastoral support for nurture groups in both KS3 and KS4.

The school will consider candidates from various backgrounds, including policing, youth-work and graduates. Existing school-based experience is not essential for this role. Appointments will be based on the ability of the candidates to provide firm and nurturing support and build a rapport with students who can sometimes display challenging behaviour.

Protocol Education is a Supply Agency offering both long terms and short terms roles in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Special Needs (SEND) Education.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE
statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00.
