A Special Education Needs & Disabilities school based in Sheffield that caters for pupils aged between 3 and 19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) are seeking a teaching assistant to cover daily or long term cover.

They require a friendly, caring, empathetic and reliable teaching assistant to be available for daily cover. The successful candidate will be required to provide general classroom support and may also be asked to work on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Previous experience of working with PMLD or SLD is a desirable, and all applicants must be willing to assist with personal care. Many of the children are non-verbal and therefore the ability to use communication aids such as PECS and Makaton would be advantageous. Teaching assistants with, Moving and Handling, Manual Handling, Peg feeding and Medical Administration training are highly desirable.

Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Monday Friday or part time
8:30am 3.30pm

Ideal Candidate:
Previous PMLD or SLD experience highly desirable
Willing to provide personal care.
PECS or Makaton experience - desirable.
Manual Handling training - highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
