Job description
Learning Mentors

The Learning Mentors will, after appropriate training, become involved in student focused work, to monitor individual students or groups of students to support them in their progress towards targets.

You will be required:

To contribute to developing a culture of “success for all” where education is seen as the key to realising ambition within a climate of high expectations.

To work closely with the Leaders, draw up and implement ambitious individual care plans for each student.

To develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with students aimed at achieving the goals in the action plan.

To work with groups of students to achieve their targets.

To liaise with staff, where appropriate, to ensure information is shared with them and to gather information to help the student make progress.

To engage parents and guardians in learning to facilitate effective support programmes for the students.

To contribute to the development of students’ social, emotional and behavioural skills to build character, self-esteem and resilience.

To contribute to the maintenance of records in order to monitor progress.

To report on the implementation of all plans drawn up, evaluate success and modify actions appropriately.

To network with other learning mentors and share good practice.
