Job description
Protocol Education are working on behalf of a North Tyneside School to recruit a learning mentor. The successful candidates will support pupils with social, emotional and mental health problems aged between 11-18 in their day to day learning and routines. This role has a risen as the result of maternity leave. The successful candidate will be required from September 2019 until at least December 2019. There is a high possibility the role will be extended until July 2019..


This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in:

• Youth Work
• Support work and residential care
• Learning Mentoring
• Prison officers/ tutors
• Police
• Military
• Graduates in Psychology

The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience with children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
• Have a confident and friendly personality
• Remain calm in stressful situations
• Show a genuine interest of working with children and young people
• Show a desire to motivate disengaged learners
