Learning Support Assistants & Learning Mentors - Bradford

A secondary school in Bradford are looking for learning support assistants and learning mentors to work within their school on a day to day, short term and long-term basis. The school are requiring additional support staff to help support pupils in mainstream education that have varying behaviour and emotional needs.
This role will involve working on a 1:1 and some group work with students who struggle with social, emotional and mental health difficulties alongside other members of the school team.. You will be helping with their class work, carrying out pastoral duties and ensuring their mental health is protected. This role would be ideally suited to individuals who have previously worked in similar situations, or Youth work or worked with young offenders/ students with SEMH due to the nature of the students. Experience with managing challenging behaviours is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils out of the classroom, with pastoral and personal development
Manage behaviour of pupils sent out of class, freeing up other TAs
Patrol school and working with pupils not in class, for whatever reason and getting them to re-engage in learning.
