Job description
Learning Mentor/Youth worker needed ASAP!

This role is dedicated for those who want to inspire a young person's life for the better. In this modern time, pupils from ages from 11-16 go through so much and are often left with no guidance. Without knowing the reason, it's easy to blame them. If you are one who believes that all it takes is one person that can inspire, or someone who generally cares about making a difference, then this role is right for you.

This role is for people who have had or have relevant experience involving; youth work, gang violence and social and emotional behaviour and sexual exploitation. This role will be challenging so you will need to be prepared. The right candidate will need to make a strong approach in handling challenging roles and be confident.

The ideal candidate will need to have a passion for working with youth, know how to handle tough situations, know how to resolve or de-escalate situation in the correct and efficient manner. Hopefully someone who is resilient and with a strong work ethic towards their work.

The school caters for both primary and secondary aged children that have social emotional and mental health difficulties, and are involved with gang culture, who may have dealt with sexual exploitation in the past. Each child has been directed to this small school via their local education authority as a matter of urgency so that they may receive a detailed and individualised curriculum.

To mentor at this school you must have a good understanding of social emotional and mental health difficulties and how to implement education and care to young people with this need. You will need to have a positive approach as well as being patient with good behaviour management. It is desirable to have mentoring/support work experience.

If this role is of interest to you, please feel free to contact Aiden at Protocol Education on 0203 219 7745 for further information. Alternatively, please send an updated CV to Aiden.Kelly@protocol-education.com
