Learning Mentor in Lewisham

Location: Lewisham
Job Type: Contract
Industry: SEN Support Jobs
Reference: PE11224332
Salary: £60 - £80 per day
Job Published: 8 months ago

A challenging behaviour provision for pupils aged 11-18 in Lewisham is looking for teaching support assistants to join their team on a long-term basis which is at least for an academic year.

The pupils in the provision have been removed from mainstream due to behaviour so for this role you must be confident in managing behaviour and able to engage hard to reach pupils within an alternative educational setting.

As a teaching assistant in this provision, you will be required to assist the pupils with their lessons so you must feel confident in the core subjects (english, maths & science) as this provision is often the last opportunity for these pupils to get GCSES.

Due to the nature of this school, you must be able to commit to 5 days a week on a long-term basis as consistency is vital for these students.

Relevant experience for this role within the last two years:
• Learning mentor in a mainstream school
• Sports coach
• Teaching assistant who wants to work specifically in behaviour
• Youth Worker
